Georgetown EATS
Help Serve During Lunch
Our longest running program, Georgetown EATS, provides daily meals to the community from Monday to Friday at 11 am. We are seeking volunteers to assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm each day. Join us in the kitchen and community room to lend your time and talents in serving our neighbors.
Roles & Requirements for Lunch Volunteers
Roles
- Cook – arrive by 9:30 am to prepare meal
- Server – arrive by 10:30am to prepare the plates and serve
- Clean Up Crew – arrive by 11:30am to start the cleaning process.
Requirements
- ServSafe Basic Food Handlers Certification*
- Background Check
- Volunteer Application and Volunteer Health Policy Agreement
- Time commitment of 2-4 hours; once per month
*ServSafe Basic Food Handlers Online Course is approximately 3 hours long and costs $15. If you’d like us to cover the cost of the course, just call or email us.
Help Unload Mobile Food Drive Trailer
Volunteers are needed to help unload our mobile food drive trailer, weigh the food, sort, store and repackage items for distribution.

Georgetown LIVES
Help with Meeting Unmet Needs & Relationship Building
The HUB is designed to help our neighbors connect with other organizations that may be able to assist them with their current needs. Although no promises are made on our part, we will act as a liaison between the organization and neighbor. For example, a few of the services we can assist with are, but not limited to:
Volunteer Opportunities
- Relocation Assistance – Assist a neighbor with travel to relocate and connect with family or friends in another town or state.
- Transporation Assistance – Help a homeless neighbor with a bus ticket to connect with nearest homeless shelter.
- Application Assistance – Assist our neighbors with the application process for other agencies for rental assistance, utility bill assistance, groceries, etc.

- Assist in the Process to Retrieve Updated Identification

Help Pray Over Our Neighbors
Georgetown PRAYS is a simple effort to reach out and pray with our neighbors. We need volunteers to help in this powerful time of encouragement and uplifting.

Help Teach Our Youth
Georgetown LEARNS is a Georgetown site for Freedom Readers, an organization that offers 1:1 literacy tutoring and unique educational opportunities for children.

- Full onboarding and training conducted by Freedom Readers (Moodle Database and Darkness to Light training on child sexual abuse prevention)
