Charlie Ball, Executive Director

Charlie has been the executive director of Friendship Place since January of 2000. Aside from many administrative tasks, Charlie dedicates the majority of his time to case-management. He personally helps execute many of Friendship Place programs.  Prior to joining Friendship Place, Charlie served for seven and half years as an infantry officer in the army.  After leaving the army, he worked for International Paper as a process manager.  His education includes a BS from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY 1989, an MBA from Webster University, Fort Sam Houston, Texas 1996, and Executive Education Courses, The John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA  2012. Charlie is married with three children.

Marie Rutledge-Livingston, Advancement Coach

Marie is a native of Georgetown and began working with Friendship Place in February 2017. She oversees our Georgetown Works program.  Previously, Marie worked in the Human Resources field for a City Government Agency and a Military Broker in Virginia for a total of 10 years.  Her education includes a BA in Information Management Systems from University of SC Upstate and MBA in Human Resource Management from Strayer University in VA.  She enjoys working in and with our Georgetown County Communities.

Saferia Cumbee, Recruiter/Employment Coach

Saferia joined our staff in 2018 after completing  2 1/2 years as an AmeriCorps Volunteer In Service To America (VISTA) with the Black River United Way and Habitat for Humanity.   Since graduating from HGTC with Applied Science of Human Services Associates Degree, she enrolled in Limestone College pursuing a Bachelors degree in Social Work.

Kelley Brinson, Office Administrator

Kelley began working with Friendship Place in December 2012. She serves as secretary to the board of directors and bookkeeper. She is currently overseeing the Georgetown Lives and Eats program.  Her education includes a BS in Mathematical Science and a MS in Industrial Management, both from Clemson University. Kelley is married with three sons.

Brandy Price, Office Administrator Assistant

Brandy Price served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Friendship Place for two years prior to being hired as the Program Administrator in June 2014. Brandy assists with the Georgetown Lives and Georgetown Eats programs. In addition, she works on development.  Brandy’s education includes a BA from Manchester College, 2011.

Kay Huse, Kitchen Coordinator

Kay moved to Georgetown from Parker County, Texas in October 2017.  She attends First Baptist Church and serves as secretary for her Sunday School Class.  Her involvement in the mission program led her to serve as a volunteer at Friendship Place in March of 2018.  She has a passion for our underserved neighbors, she shares that passion and love through good food.  Kay is married, she has one daughter and one grandson.
