Our Team

Charlie has been the executive director of Friendship Place since January of 2000. Aside from many administrative tasks, Charlie dedicates the majority of his time to case-management. He personally helps execute many of Friendship Place programs.  Prior to joining Friendship Place, Charlie served for seven and half years as an infantry officer in the army.  After leaving the army, he worked for International Paper as a process manager.  His education includes a BS from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY 1989, an MBA from Webster University, Fort Sam Houston, Texas 1996, and Executive Education Courses, The John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA  2012. Charlie is married with three children.

Saferia joined our staff in 2018 after completing  2 1/2 years as an AmeriCorps Volunteer In Service To America (VISTA) with the Black River United Way and Habitat for Humanity.   Since graduating from HGTC with Applied Science of Human Services Associates Degree, she enrolled in Limestone College pursuing a Bachelors degree in Social Work.

Kelley began working with Friendship Place in December 2012. She serves as secretary to the board of directors and bookkeeper. She is currently overseeing the Georgetown Lives and Eats program.  Her education includes a BS in Mathematical Science and a MS in Industrial Management, both from Clemson University. Kelley is married with three sons.
