Under His Wings Campaign
“And under his wings you will find refuge.” -Psalm 91
After much prayer and introspection, our board has bought a “forever” home at 1423 Front Street. Our new home enables Friendship Place to add services to meet the ever-changing needs of the marginalized and forgotten. The Georgetown community has sustained this ministry for 20 years. Now we ask you for your support to launch a new phase. Our “forever” home requires a complete restoration and you have the opportunity to join our vision of sharing Jesus’ love for others throughout the Georgetown community.
Friendship Place offers hope, love, the opportunity to break the bonds of poverty, and a warm meal – all served with Christ-like love for our fellow men and women. Over the past 20 years, our outreach has been made possible because of your prayers, volunteer service and generous gifts.
Will you join us in bringing this message to the families who are hurting? Your gift is a lifeline for those struggling with hunger, loss of a job, or facing a barrier keeping them from fully reaching their God-given potential.
What Your Gift Provides:
- Expansion of on-site training for clients and programming for their children.
- Enlarged food preparation area to feed more homeless men and women.
- A safe and comfortable facility for prayer.
- A larger and permanent facility that will allow us to pursue other programs as needs arise.
The “Under His Wings” campaign is the biggest challenge Friendship Place has ever faced. Your gift is a lifeline for those struggling with hunger, loss of a job, or facing a barrier keeping them from fully reaching their God-given potential.
To date, Friendship Place has raised more than $300,000 of its goal with approximately $100,000 more in pledges, including a significant gift from the Yawkey Foundation, the charitable foundation perpetuating Tom Yawkey and Jean Yawkey’s commitment to Georgetown County and its residents.
Additional generous donors for the “Under His Wings” campaign include Caroline and Wayne Coleman, Susan and Joe Maloney, Sarah Redd, and The Cecil I. Walker Charitable Trust.
