Meeting Needs And Touching Lives Together
Friendship Place is a Christian organization working to provide a hand-up for people to meet their basic needs. For more than 14 years, we have fed the hungry, sheltered the homeless and worked to creatively and cost-effectively meet the unmet needs of the citizens of Georgetown county.
We want to help those that are willing and capable move from crisis to self-sufficiency. We are grass-roots organization that is small, effective, and efficient, with a focus of moving our clients forward.
We strive to build a relationship with our clients, learning what their barriers are, and help them develop the skills meet the obstacles they face in their lives. The process is slow, time-consuming, and full of “bumps in the road.” We are committed to those that want to change their living situations for the better.
Critical to the success of our clients is finding out exactly what is holding them back, working with them individually to eliminate the barriers, and using all of the available services in the county to help them achieve their goals.
At Friendship Place we want to be the conduit that helps the willing and capable find and use the services they need. We feel that in order for a client to break the yoke of poverty they have to find the correct combination of available resources in the community for their individual needs.
